Digging around

....amongst some old photo files here and I found this, made almost six years ago for Grand daughter Mia, before I was blogging:

And this was the little sweater I knitted to go with it (or the other way round perhaps!) - Benjamin Bunny of course :)

Instead of trying to actually knit the design into the garment, I did Swiss Darning over the top of the knitted blank front- much more fun and a lot easier too.

The bunny stamp is still on my 'For Sale' page at the top of the blog - but I plan to remove stuff and post it onto a Facebook craft de-cluttering site shortly.

  11. Our household has always been partial to the Beatrix Potter characters. My DD has a cabinet full of the Royal Dalton figurines. She was lucky enough to have a godmother who gifted her with one for every occasion. Your sweater is just amazing, as is the adorable card.

P.S. The camels have landed in PA. Thanks! They were only a tiny bit thirsty!

  15. Both the card and the sweater are gorgeous. I don't know what some of the terms are, as I don't knit, but I love the way you've made the rabbits match each other. Bet the little one loved it too! TFS

  18. What a great card and sweater!! You knit so beautifully, and although I have no clue what Swiss Darning is, this image looks as if it was knit right into the sweater! So cute, and I'm sure she's outgrown it by now too!

  20. I've just found this via Jane's blog. What a gorgeous little jumper. I'm really impressed with the Swiss Darning. Something I've never tried. I used to be a very keen knitter back in the 60s and 70s. Barbxx
